20-year-old, Baton Rouge singer/songwriter Chaislyn King has “an angelic voice combined with great songwriting…[that] draws her audience into her journey, and we don’t want to leave.” (Mark Myers, The Lobby Lounge Concert Series). Appearing on ABC’s American Idol (Season 1) when she was 16, she received the golden ticket from Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. In 2018, she began writing her own music, and to date has written more than 40 songs. Her song “Dreams I Forgot About", released in April of 2020, has over twenty-thousand streams on Spotify. In December 2018, she released her first EP. The video for her song “Carole" won Best Video at Calcasieu Parish Film Festival in 2018. Currently streaming on Twitch (twitch.tv/chaislyn) four days a week and attending The University of Southern Mississippi pursuing a BA in music, King studies voice with Dr. Ann McPhail. Previously she has studied with Ninfa Caruso (10 years) and Leslie Castay (2 years). She hopes to land a publishing deal and be a professional songwriter, while still performing on the side.
